I recently purchased Things from Cultured Code for GTD management. I have both a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro 17, and I wanted to make sure that the Things data would be synced across the two Macs. Upon searching the internet, I found this is a feature sorely lacking in the product itself. While it appears this sync feature will be available soon (according to Cultured Code website), I am in no hurry. Why?

Since I have Live Mesh for Mac installed on both my Macs, I simply created a new Mesh folder called "Things" that contains the application data used by the software. Now my data is synced with no further effort. Interesting to note that the support forums for Things explicitly states NOT to use iDisk (MobileMe) for this purpose.

If you are a Things user and want a very simple way to sync your Things data, be sure to install Live Mesh for Mac right away. To find (or select) the folder where Things data is stored, hold down the [option] key when loading Things and you will receive a prompt for folder location. Whatever folder you choose, be sure to add that folder to Live Mesh and you are done!
