I recently downloaded an application and came across the following error when trying to install:

"Error reading setup initialization file"

I searched the web for possible fixes.  Many of my findings suggested that I should execute the msi with "run as admin", but that did nothing for me.

What finally worked?  I simply downloaded the file again. 

It is once again an honor to be selected to serve as MVP for another year!  As always, thanks to Microsoft for supporting the community.

For starters, I predict that I will blog more.  The last half of 2008 I became very invisible in the blog community.  I have been quite busy, but that is no excuse!  The great bloggers out there are busy people too.

With regard to development, I believe we will see a greater adoption of two existing technologies:  WPF & VSTO.  Consider it a "revenge" of the rich-client.

With regard to the economy, I think this will drive some interesting behaviors in the development community.  Specifically, I think we will see developers more focused, determined, and productive.
